Reflect and Obscure

In my youth, swimming in lakes was both magical and freaky. The deep lakes of Ontario Canada gave me reflections of the sky as if they were the truth: "there is a parallel world just like yours, here beneath the surface." They were also so deep they were black, hiding all that lay beneath like a secret. When they were not mirroring, they rippled and continued to hide entire fallen trees and rocks that were mere inches below the surface.
