Another fun, rewarding day in the studio. Reward: banana muffin baking session!
Today’s “landscape” features some mighty tasty strawberries… believe me, it was difficult not to pluck them from the still life set-up and gobble them up with the rest of the box! That is quite the motivation to paint more quickly, n’est pas?
I’ve forgone the drawing challenge for the past few days in order to complete a commission for… well… this. Kind of a sexy cowboy thing going on. I don’t question, I just draw. 😉
To commemorate the very last day of summer I thought I’d post a summer-dinner painting.
Here is a table spread our friends laid for us one summer evening in their Toronto backyard… fond memories of the evening still linger.
Stay tuned for another summer meal post tomorrow!
Here’s a fun little series of edibles. Clockwise from top left: wine, tea time, hot sauces and mango. Each painting measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches and framed in a wee black frame.
Hello again! My sincere apologies for being absent from this blog for an entire month. I assure you I spent the time well. I got married and visited family in two different countries followed by a honeymoon! I thought I’d never want to leave the sunny turquoise coast of Turkey but was flooded with excitement and relief upon returning home and finding my studio full of all my books, canvases and paper waiting for me.
Here is a painting I made just before I left in May. My new husband’s favourite part is the reflection of the egg in the knife. Mine is the shadow in the egg shell between the knife and spoon.
I challenge all of you to NOT go bake cupcakes now… and if you fail you must share some with me.
