This week is the closing of an alumni art exhibition I’m very proud to be a part of. Here is some information from Mount Allison University’s website about the show and what it is celebrating:
On October 3, 2014, Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada celebrated a milestone moment — the official opening of the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts.
The Centre is one of the top arts education facilities in the country, providing specialized facilities for teaching, performance, and creative pursuits in Fine Arts and Drama, drawing on Mount Allison’s long and talented history in these areas.
Named in honour of the late Purdy Crawford (’52) — Mount Allison graduate, chancellor emeritus, and prominent Canadian businessman and philanthropist — the Centre will help Mount Allison define the Canadian cultural experience for future generations of talented students.
To celebrate its opening, the centre will be hosting a Fine Arts Alumni Exhibition featuring more than 60 works by 64 years of MtA Fine Arts alumni. Contributors are from the classes of 1950 to 2013.
This piece was graciously loaned from the collection of Thaddeus Holownia for the show:
